The New Canadians Event Fund supports public festivals or events that celebrate communities of new Canadians and their cultures, and that demonstrate community involvement.
Are we eligible?
Only registered non-profit societies based in Yukon can apply.
To apply, a society must:
- primarily have a cultural or multicultural mandate, or be otherwise significantly involved in cultural or multicultural activity, and
- have an interest in helping new Canadians with their transition to living in Yukon.

How much funding is available?
The annual budget is $50,000.
Up to $5,000 is available for each eligible project.
Funds can be used for:
- venue and event coordination fees
- lighting and technical costs
- talent fees
- equipment rental
What is the deadline?
You can apply at any time. We recommend that you apply at least six weeks before your event.
How do we apply?
Contact an arts advisor to discuss your project well ahead of applying. A committee in the Cultural Services Branch, Department of Tourism and Culture, makes the funding decisions.
