​Yukon Arts Advisory Council


The Yukon Arts Advisory Council (YAAC) advises the Minister of Tourism and Culture on recommendations for funding for individual artists and arts organizations as well as reviews and monitors the effectiveness of the implementation of the Arts Policy and other programs under the Arts Act. The council:

  • is an arms-length body that makes recommendations for funding and reviews the effectiveness of arts programs
  • adjudicates Arts Fund, Touring Artist Fund and Arts Operating Funds
  • has up to 9 members which are appointed for 3-year terms and can be re-appointed
  • is comprised of members representing several arts disciplines, Yukon communities, and the distinct interests of First Nation artists.

Vacancies are filled through a public nomination process, but you can contact Boards and Committees at anytime to nominate yourself or someone else in anticipation of vacancies.
